Lake Myvatn -- a MUST see

We're at Lake Myvatn, a beautiful geothermal area.

Today, we climbed Hverfell, a 459-foot deep, dog-bowl shaped crater that is more than 2,500 years old.

We also explored the Dimmuborgir lava field, which is also more than 2,000 years old.

Then we went for a dip in the Myvatn Nature Baths.

We had an awesome lunch at Vogafjos Cowshed Cafe, an organic farm where you can watch them milk the cows while you eat. The sandwiches and salads were made with their own bread, meat and vegetables.

We're staying at the Hotel Reynihlid, a gorgeous boutique hotel on the lake. We had amazing grilled salmon for dinner.

Tomorrow, we go to Dettifoss, Europe's mightiest waterfall, and Leirhnjukur, a geothermal area with mud pots, steam vents and pseudocraters.
